Just what do they have in store?


Man is it ever getting crazy around my place at the moment! With guests for Christmas, a metric cap ton of cleaning up that had to be done and all the other Christmas prep, I'm trying vainly to find time to be creative. Thank the goddess that I was able to make a stock of images up!!

On another note, I just found a degree course in western herbalism. Very tempted to go for it!

A Bit Of A Problem

There is always a couple of details that need to be said but always get forgotten....


First part of my new story 'A Haven Christmas Carol' is now up on Rachel's Haven if you lovely lot want to read it.

On a different note, I've recently been playing some Tekkit and specifically Lapito's Galaticraft modpack. While it might not contain everything I might want in a minecraft modpack, I have been enjoying it a lot so far. If anyone has any suggestions of machines or buildings to create, do drop a comment and I'll see what I can do :)

Re-Hiring Policy

Hey folks, sorry that I only got a couple of caps up this past week. Its been kind of insane all told, what with work and everything, but I did manage to have a burst of creativity late last night and produced a bunch of new captions that I'll be bringing you over the coming days. I'm tempted to try and make a run for the next milestone here on this blog, which would be seven hundred original captions, but that is another fifty two after this one to make an upload. By the new year, maybe. By Christmas? Well who knows, since I have enough to bring it down to forty eight already.... Watch this space folks ;)

Resurfacing

Hey everybody (insert appropriate cartoon joke here)! Sorry I haven't posted the last week or so. I had a total lack of inspiration for any caption stories, despite having a shed load of images I have planned for such things. The ideas, just weren't coming forth though so yeah, nothing happened as you could plainly see.
Now, I have a caption ready from that time slot, but well its on my 'don't really like the end result' list, but hey, content is content at the end of the day, so I'll be uploading that with this info post.
However, I'm not sure if I'll have many captions made this week either. The run up to Christmas at work tends to be somewhat insane, so my time during the work day becomes limited, and I tend to crash when I get home. Well you don't need to know the in and outs of all that jazz, but something that may be of interest for you is that I am primarily focusing on a new story piece, planned for completion by Christmas Day itself. A reworking of A Christmas Carol, with some TG twists thrown in. Call me a heretic for changing a classic, but well the idea stuck in my head and I'm already a good four thousand words in (which should give you an idea of how long its taking me to do, since I haven't even done the confrontation with Marley yet!). So I may end up posting it here as well as on the Haven, so if that is the sort of thing you want to see, just jot down a comment and we'll see where this goes!

Aliens, what can you do?

Sorry for the severe lack of updates the last few days. The end of last week was a total bitch with one thing and another. Busting a tire on my car in a big way, combined with a couple of injuries and a near addiction to playing XCOM Enemy Within (which is an awesome game that I seriously suggest you lovely lot playing) produced a total draught on the idea front for captions. Some new story ideas that I am working on, but even they were coming slowly. So I managed to force this one out of my head last night. Hope its something to keep you interested till I can get more on the way. So till then, keep watching the skies, citizens!

Aliens. Capture, enslave, impregnate, experimentation or just use you as a plain old food source. You just don't know what they might be up to, but that is why they are called aliens! Kara's Alien Survival Guide is available from all good bookshops of the Kara Empire, but as a free sample, here's rule number 4 for you. If the alien has more sharp pointy things than you, then running away is a good idea. Its a basic one, but people always forget it. You'd have thought that no natural defences loses to a genetically perfect killing machine every time, but you try telling that to the sort of mindless jarheads you find crewing starships these days.

Hey everyone, sorry I didn't upload anything yesterday. The idea failure continued through most of the day and I was somewhat down in the dumps, which doubly sucks since I had a day off from work. Like getting a cold on holiday really.
Anyhoo, I had a burst of inspiration last night and managed to get a whole new load of captions done, all back on somewhat dystopian themes. I don't see the future that way though, it just makes for wide level of options for story telling. I blame my years as a warhammer 40k fanfic writer for that ;)
I have enough captions to last us into next week even with another idea failure moment, so YAY! Hope you enjoy this offering and I'll see you all for the next one!

Well this isn't the sort of cap I was planning on bringing you, but I had idea failure on the longer, more involved one I was working on. So to save having another void here on the blog, I quickly made up this one to fill the gap. Therefore this is a Polyfilla caption to mask over the cracks. Normal service will resume when I've been able to put away the toolbox....

Hey folks, sorry for the lack of updates over the last week or so. I just had a major drought on ideas and drive to actually get anything done. Happens from time to time, though its just a bugger that it seems to happen a lot this year!
Going to try and get a load of captions done this week so at least I can cover any further empty points, but since I'm also working on a placeholder drawing to cover such times, we can at least hope that I get something finished this week!
I do have a new story written and availble to read, once again at Rachel's Haven, and it was written for one of the lovely members there. So if you'd like something to read for a bit, head over to the library there and take a read of 'The Enchantress'.
More story pieces are in the works too, so lets see what I can produce there as well.

On another front, brought myself a bunch of new airsoft items last week. I'm now the owner of several new items of webbing (Condor Outdoor chest rig in A-Tacs AU and one of their molle battle belts in ACU digital since I had a medical pack that was sitting around doing sod all. I highly recommend Condor's stuff as it has to be some of the best designed and by far the most comfortable stuff I have come across. The belt is really comfy and super padded and also seems to function really well by itself without the need for a harness.) and one of G and G Armaments M4 gas blow back rifles. Seriously cool bits of kit and I can't wait to get them out onto the field!

Can't Stop The Spread

Well because I don't have anything else, here is the one I don't think turned out well that I mentioned yesterday. Well I can't like everything I create!

Sorry there wasn't anything over the last two days. I didn't have a stock ready to go for this week and the one cap I had done already, well I really don't like it but it was one of those things that was sitting on my computer, annoying me with its presence and blocking everything else up. With my head being fuzzy anyway, ideas for all the things I've been trying to work on just haven't been coming forward. Grrr.
Still, got this one done last night and I've written about two thousand words or so in the last couple of days on a story despite the brain fuzz. Just need to finish one story and start work on another so I can submit it for Thursday.....

On the other side of the equation, just got my results this morning for my latest course and I passed!! Have to argue with my feedback and the marking over the referencing point (since I did,  but whoever marked it has yet another different idea of how it should be done than the way my tutor for the course had.) but hey a pass is a pass! That's another 30 points in the bag for my degree! Just another 280 to go and I'll have a BSc in Health Sciences woo!

Urgh hate it when I struggle to get through a cap's plot. I can get ideas, think about it to get it straight, and then lose the whole thing and have to struggle through the fog in my head to write something for it. Even worse when I lose my ideas half way through as I did with this cap. Still at least its done and something for you girls to read :)
Content I'm not totally happy with is better than no content at all, and I hate it when things don't move on!

Sorry for the lateness of this one. Just got back from doing some food shopping for tomorrow (snack food galore! Tomorrow carbs are a girl's best friend ;) ) and things have been a bit crazy during the day, partly because I got it in my head to redo the positions of my pouches on my assault vest and then spent another couple of hours shopping around on the net for a way to carry all my now defunct pouches from the vest. Yeah I'm crazy, but as the Overlady of the planet in training, I'm allowed to be!

I'll try and have a cap or two up tomorrow for everyone, but we'll see :)
