Some females lactate more or less continuously or don't require much stimulation when they are young until middle age and that is considered a gentic defect. It would be interesting to explore a world where roles and potential are more equal. One where males could lactate continuously, breast feed indefinitely and/or gestate. It might be a world where relationships were much more stable. It might also be possible somehwhere sooner rather than latter
Some get pleasure from suckling most do not. what if males lactated indefinitely and it was sexually rewarding. How that would change my relationship and create an interesting world to explore.
I'm not sure it would have been better to have had to be the demonstration of the start of a regular pregnancy
